I’m pleased to share with you the article with the latest news with all the A.I.G. issues from the Associated Press on my Yahoo.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An American International Group Inc. executive who received a bonus worth more than $742,000 after taxes has resigned publicly – in an Op-Ed column in The New York Times.

Jake DeSantis, an executive vice president at AIG’s Financial Products division, said Wednesday he’s leaving the company and will donate his entire bonus to charity. The letter, addressed to AIG’s CEO, Edward Liddy, criticized Liddy for, among other things, agreeing to the payments but then calling the bonuses “distateful” as he testified before disapproving members of Congress.

New York-based AIG has been criticized for awarding $165 million in bonuses to employees of the financial products division, a global unit at the root of AIG’s downfall.

Since September, AIG has received a $182.5 billion federal bailout.

Hard to believe that only a portion of the AIG CEOs are consenting to returning part of the bonuses that were dolled out with our bail out money. I just heard that AIG is now taking down their sign on Wall Street due to all the harassment that they have been receiving, rightfully so.

This whole deal is leaving a very bad taste in every one’s mouth, it is a major wake up call if I have saw one.

If giving their CEO’s overly generous bonuses, at AIG wasn’t bad enough, but to use the bailout money that we taxpayers doled out to them, is unforgivable. I hope that they nail these guys to the wall for their arrogance. America is outraged and rightfully so, this type of behavior is what got us in this mess to begin with for heaven’s sake. Obama better wake up and smell the roses and not let this type of bad behavior be rewarded.

My hubby just brought me in a nice piece of Lemon 3-Layer cake by Pepperidge Farms, they are our favorite cakes to get at the grocery store. The favorite flavor is the Coconut 3-Layered one, it disappears quickly in our house. I always like mine ala mode with a nice glass of cold milk!

I don’t have the time or much opportunity these days to read much more than the newspaper or a magazine or a Reader’s Digest perhaps, which I always has several copies conveniently located in the bathrooms in the house. But that doesn’t mean that once in a while I’ll find a book that really interests me and I will take the time to do what I can in reading it all the way to the end.My daughter actually had me in mind when she and her friends went to the local flea market yesterday when she was looking through a box of books that were being given away for free. She is an avid reader and loves looking for new and exciting books to bring home and when she sees books that are being given away she usually walks away with an arm load.

This box contained a book written by Jimmy Buffett, by the name of “A Salty Piece of Land” a novel. She knows that her dad and I are both avid Jimmy Buffett fans from way back and she went ahead and picked it up for me along with a bunch of other ones for her from this box of free reading materials. That was a pleasant surprise, she is always surprising us with things, and they are not usually on the pleasant side I’m sorry to say.
