I’m glad to know that people all over the world are doing wonderful things in a huge effort to save our Mother Earth. Being “green” is certainly the way to be these days and rightfully so, says I. I have always done all that I can possibly do to recycle at home and at work. When I worked for a major insurance company I started and coordinated a recycling program that I hope is still be continued today even though I haven’t worked there for over a decade. It gave me something to sink my teeth into and it was a positive energy that I put to good use and was proud of the way it all turned out.

I’m now learning about e-waste recycling, which I am beginning to think is very interesting. Veolia Environmental Services, a waste management and industrial services which is located in Australia and their web site, Veoliaes.com.au, is one that I stumbled on the other night while looking up some information concerning waste management in australia.

I’m thinking on suggesting that the company that I work for now look into a program for their e-wast recycling items that are currently just getting tossed into the trash, thus landing in our precious land fills. I think I’m up for the challenge, it worked well with the last office, years back, so it only makes sense to try again.

It’s very scary to hear that the Bay Bridge is falling apart, big time, as thousands of people cross over it each and every day. I’m glad that they closed the bridge, but I’m sure that there are lots of very unhappy and stressed out commuters out that way for now. I’ve never been all that crazy about driving over a bridge, but knowing that so many of our bridges are in desperate need of repair makes me think twice these days.

My sister has the worst luck with vehicles. Being single and living far from home makes the whole situation even worse. She has a nice 2001 Toyota Corolla that has been pretty good to her for the past few years, but know she is starting to find more and more things that are needing attention on the darn thing.

Right now she is dealing with a water pump issue. The need for vehicle repair never happens at a good time, but there are certainly worse times to have to deal with the parting of your hard earned money and being separated from your vehicle during the needed repair time at one of her selected Chicago auto repair shops.

She is a single mom that has 2 kids to shuffle around and of course works two jobs to support them with and needs a good running and reliable car to round all over town in. Toyota’s are good cars, parts are easy to find and are pretty much affordable, as affordable parts go, but it all takes money and time, two things that she doesn’t have a whole lot of to spare these days.

I can’t believe that the Washington Redskin let the Philadelphia Eagles walk all over them the way that they did on Sunday. The poor Redskin fans are really getting fed up with this year’s games. They really are due a win, but I guess we will have to look for that on November 8th when they go up against the Atlanta Falcons.

My sister has a membership to the local Sam’s Club, here in town. Once in a while I will go along with her and find some pretty amazing bargains. This year for Christmas I would really love to be able and buy my hubby a Tom Tom GPS system for him to use. The poor guy has the worst sense of direction and is famous for not wanting to ask for directions, from anyone. I guess that is pretty typical for most men, but most frustrating for the other folks that are having to deal with the issue, mainly me! If he wants to be the driver than he needs a decent navigator to assist him.

It seems that all most everyone has some sort of GPS these days and I hear the name Tom Tom quite a bit, so I’m going to check what Sam’s Club has to offer in that line. I’m looking to find one possibly under the $150 mark. So this Friday, which is payday for me, after work, sis and I are going to head into town and she was Sam’s Club has to offer in GPS. I’ll keep you posted.
