My best friend has a son serving his country and is enlisted in the Marines, so she finds some of the best stories and jokes concerning the Marines and enjoys passing them along in her emails. This one really got me going and I had to post it here.

The Aisle Seat

Two Radical Arab Terrorists boarded a flight out of London. One took a window seat and the other sat next to him in the middle seat… Just before takeoff, a U.S.. Marine sat down in the aisle seat. After takeoff, the Marine kicked his shoes off, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the Arab in the window seat said, ‘I need to get up and get a coke.’ ‘Don’t get up,’ said the Marine, ‘I’m in the aisle seat, ‘I’ll get it for you.’

As soon as he left, one of the Arabs picked up the Marines shoe and spat in it. When the Marine returned with the coke, the other Arab said, ‘That looks good, I’d really like one, too.’ Again, the Marine obligingly went to fetch it. While he was gone the other Arab picked up the Marines other shoe and spat in it. When the Marine returned, they all sat back and enjoyed the flight.

As the plane was landing, the Marine slipped his feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened. He leaned over and asked his Arab neighbors… ‘Why does it have to be this way?’ ‘How long must this go on? This fighting between our nations? This hatred? This animosity? This spitting in shoes and pissing in cokes?’

Isn’t it amazing how the Internet has made life so much easier in so many ways. I remember many years back when I was working for an insurance company, I was told that the companies goal was to become as paperless as possible, which we all had a good laugh over just thinking how odd, but cool that would be. Computers have made it possible to reduce the amount of paper being used by most of us, but I’m afraid that we will still be cutting down trees to be used for paper for a very long time, so recycling paper is a major goal of mine.

I have always hated all the phone books that we all have in our homes and offices, it is such a waste of paper since most of us rely on the Internet these days to find what we need and want instead of letting our “fingers do the walking” by way of the many phone books that are issued to most of us each and every year. It used to be that we only had one or two phone books, now a days I find that I have four or five to have to deal with and weed through in an effort to find a name, address or phone number, what a major pain in the rear, especially since I don’t use any of them considering I am connected to the World Wide Web at work and at home, which makes finding this type of information so much easier.

One of my favorite sites to locate names, addresses and phone numbers is JustClickLocal.com. Whether I need to find information in Miami, FL, or maybe something in Pittsburgh, PA or in good old Charlotte, NC, I can go to JustClickLocal.com and key in a few strokes and have the information in a matter of minutes, it’s just too easy to pass up. So I am urging folks to toss their unused phone books in the recycling bin and give JustClickLocal.com and try see for yourself how easy and useful they are.

Last time I had a check up, my doctor told me that my lungs were diminishing and that I really should put the cigarettes down for good. That was a reality check and I’m glad to say that I haven’t smoked a cigarette in 2 days. They say that the first 3 days are the worst, so I have one more day to go. Wish me luck!

I’m so bummed out, my Ceiling Fan that I have in my master bedroom has died on me. I have to have a fan going while I sleep or I don’t get a good night’s sleep at all. Thank God that I had a box fan down in the basement that I managed to drag upstairs and put on my dresser for the night, but it just isn’t the same as what my Ceiling Fan did for me.

Looking at Ceiling Fans wasn’t what I expected to have to look for at this point. With the holiday’s right around the corner this really wasn’t in my budget, but what I can do. I have to have sleep!  I have heard that Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans are a good bargain and that they have some nice energy efficient models that are over 300% more efficient than other models, I like the sound of that.

I’m glad that Hansen has a very user friendly web site to check out and that they are currently having a good sale on their ceiling fans and have free shipping. I’ve placed a photo of their “Hunter The Archive Original 22283 in Antique Pewter” it’s 52 inches and is under $300. I think I can handle that.

I really like that Hansen Wholesale has a ceiling fan blog. It was interesting to read. More companies are placing blogs on their web sites, they do serve a purpose and I expect more and more websites will be utilizing them.

How about those Yankees? I’m glad that they won the World Series this year. It is there 27th World Series win. The Yankees have always been a great team, so I’m not surprised. I’ll bet the streets of New York are a rocking today and Philadelphia is crying in their beer!
