I forgot about the water ants that arrive in my house this time of the year. Thank goodness they are only attracted to water and not food and sweets, that can be a real pain in the ass, all year round. These little black ants are always found hanging out in the kitchen and the bathrooms and are a real challenge to get rid of. I’m so glad that they don’t bite either.

Sometimes I wonder why I tell people that Spring is my favorite season!

They say that things happen for a reason. The only good thing that will come out of all of this flood water that has invaded my home over the weekend, is that my carpets will be getting a good cleaning. I’m so thankful that I have a basement, if not for that, my whole first floor could have and most likely would have been ruined and I’d really be ticked off at the world, more than I am even now.

When I first moved in here I had no idea that the basement had leaking water issues, it didn’t take long to find out and that is why I haven’t done a whole heck of a lot down there, although the water that comes in isn’t usually all that much. I use the basement basically for storage and have most things up on shelves and wooden pallets. But not everything immediately finds its way up to where it belongs, such as the case of the nice piece of carpet that I picked up at a flea market last year. I had intended to look up carpet cleaning tips and see if I could clean it well enough myself instead of paying some company an arm and a leg to do it for me, before I laid it out in my bedroom. It was one of those things that just never made it to the top of the “To Do List” that is always being added to.

Of course now it is too late and I have had to call an emergency water damage company to come and save what can be saved. I went online and looked up carpet cleaning services in austin and found The Steam Team at http://www.thesteamteam.com/ they seem to do it all and they are scheduled to come first thing tomorrow morning. One good thing about working nights is that I can usually be home during the morning for service calls like this. I like to be home for service calls like this so that I can watch, learn, listen and ask questions and you never know, I might even find my “dream man” in a uniform knocking at my door, that would make two good things that could come out of this nightmare.

You Tube is always giving us entertaining videos to keep us laughing and coming back for more. The best ones are the ones with animals in them. The majority are of cats and dogs but certainly not all of them. I can spend over an hour on You Tube just clicking away from funny, cute and adorable videos to another. Good stuff.

This morning I was channel surfing, not much on on a Saturday morning unless you are into cartoons and other kiddie shows. So I ended up watching some programs on MTV that I normally wouldn’t consider watching. Like “16 and Pregnant” and “The Things I Did When I Was 17″ both are hard core Reality Shows, which I normally don’t enjoy watching, other than “Survivor” on CBS.

Anyway, I have to say that these MTV shows weren’t as bad as I first thought and I found myself getting interested and watching more than I would have normally watched and stayed in bed a few hours longer than normally on a Saturday morning. I could get used to that!

I have never been much into working out. I have always led such a busy and hectic life at home and at work that I thought that I had been keeping in shape due to that. But I was so wrong and I need to do something about it and soon. I have an extra room in the house that I’m planning on turning into an exercise room and have turned to the Internet to find the equipment that I want and need.

First off I want to find a workout bench, then I’ll look for a decent exercise floor mat to do my floor work on. I’d like to look into taking some yoga classes, I hear that they do wonders for the body, heart and soul, sounds good to me. I’d like to find a class that is for females only. It would be a turn off to be surrounded by a bunch of gawking men, ya know?

There is a ton of equipment out there that I’ll be eyeballing the next couple of months. An exercise ball would be cool and then there are wrist and ankle weights and the list goes on and on. I’ll be stopping by at yard sales a bit more often in order to find some of the needed equipment. It has been too hot this summer to be doing much yard sales, but now I’m on a mission, so it’s all good!
