We looked into internet providers Middleville and decided to finally get satellite internet. I love that I can do so much on the internet. I knew about internet shopping, but didn’t realize how much you could really buy off of the internet. I started ordering all of our bathroom tissue, paper towels, and non-perishable food items from Amazon.com. They have really great deals and if you order a certain amount of money worth, you can get free shipping. It really gives me a lot more time because I am not running back and forth into town. Lastly, I have been able to order specialty groceries that I cannot get in town off of the internet. I am of Lebonese descent and love to cook the traditional food. My favorite snack is stuffed grape leaves. Now I order the grape leaves and make them all the time. I am really glad that we decided to get satellite internet. My husband is glad too, because he loves all the wonderful dishes that I have been cooking because I can order the ingredients off the internet.

One of my good customers at the bar and grill that I work at just recently started a job at the biggest Advertising Agency in town. I am so excited for him since he is a single Dad and has been out of work for over a year now. Instead of him coming in and telling such horrible tales of woe he is now coming in with such positive and funny stories to share with us all.

It is interesting to see and here how today’s Advertising Agency employees have turned to the Internet for most of their work. The days of relying on the paper versions of the Yellow Pages and newspapers for the majority of their advertising are long gone. It’s all about going digital. Don’t get me wrong people are still using the old media ways only instead of the paper version they are going online to read and watch so it is a whole new world for the typical Advertising Agency and their clients.

While this particular guy has had some good news to share, he is quite alone in this area. There are still way too many people that are unemployed here in town and all across the country. It has been over 4 years now since our economy went spiraling downhill, I don’t think anyone really thought that we would still be in the horrible situation and there still doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of this long, lonely tunnel. So we will just keep trudging along as best as we can. Thank God for family and good friends to help ride out this massive storm.

For some time now you can get a large sweet iced tea at McDonald’s for only $1 and have as many refills as you like as well, now you know that you just can’t beat that with a stick. My daughter unfortunately hates anything that comes from McDonald’s and insists on eating only at Burger King, where they charge quite a bit more for their large sweet tea. So I was so very happy to find that when driving by our local Burger King that they are advertising that you can now buy their large sweet tea for only $1. Kudos to Burger King for finally seeing the light!

Last night I did my once a week routine of stopping by my grandparent’s house to have dinner with them when I got off work. My grandfather is now 81 years old and he still goes to work every single day. Papa has been practicing law for 60-something years, and when he talks about his cases and the people he is able to help, his eyes light up. My grandmother was a nurse while Papa was in law school, and shortly after he graduated she retired from the working world forever. These days Grandma spends the majority of her days at Kroger hunting a deal for dinner or admiring the tomatoes in her garden and wishing they would ripen more quickly. Papa heads home from work around 3:00 each day. He spends a few hours playing around on his computer while Grandma prepares their nightly meal. The food is always simple, nutritious and prepared with love. The best part of the meal is always the conversation. Papa eats quickly while sharing long-winded tales of wilder days, and no matter how interesting they are, he always cuts them short in order to watch Gunsmoke on his http://www.expertsatellite.com/. At times these dinners are inconvenient, but I know that in a few short years, I’ll be thinking of them as some of the most precious nights of my life.

Boy I have to say that Trade Shows certainly have come a long way since the last time I attended one, which was I’m guessing around 7 or 8 years ago.  Yesterday I went with a girl friend to a Trade Show that her parents were participating in, we got there nice and early and helped them get all set up with their brand new trade show flooring and their logo canopy and logo mats that they had custom made, with their company’s name and logo nicely displayed for all to see and hopefully remember next time they need the services of a mail and packaging store and pick their newly open store.

It takes a lot of guts to open a new business these days with the economy still in such a mess, with no end in sight. I was surprised to see so many new businesses there yesterday just because of that fact. This particular Trade Show was put on specifically for new business owners, which I think was a grand idea, they are going to need all the help that they can get right now. It was so cool to see all the neat stuff that has come out recently for folks to use at these Trade Shows, this one particular business had the nicest trade show carpet that I have ever seen, I actually took a picture of it with my cell phone camera. Never thought I’d take a picture of any type of carpet. LOL
