Today on the way home I was coming around a corner at 35 mph and hit a patch of Black Ice. I ended up with the rear end off the side of the road for just a bit before I managed to get it back under control right before the SUV, that was coming at me, hit me head on. The look on the guys face as we went by each other will stick in my mind for a very long time!No Comments »

Well my week end plans are shot. The weather man warned us that we were in for some snow, but since when have I ever listened to him? It has been snowing since the early morning hours and it is still coming down hard and it is past dinner time. We must have at least 6 inches by now. I went out and brushed off the car and the truck earlier, but now it is in need of another, oh well – there is always tomorrow. Nothing much else to do in this type of weather, sigh………………..No Comments »
Being as I don’t own one of the really large TV screens, when I turned on the TV the other day to see the score and the time remaining of this year’s Super Bowl, I couldn’t read what the score was or what quarter the game was in. Thank goodness I just left the set on while I went in the kitchen to put some dishes away. When I came back into my room I found out that it was half time and I was just in time to watch Bruno Mars singing. Shortly after he was done performing it was time for the commercials.
Each year the commercials during the Super Bowl half time celebration are supossed to be a huge attraction. But this year I didn’t see anything worth bragging about and to tell you the truth I wasn’t all that amazed at Bruno Mar’s performance all thought the announcers were full of praise. I don’t know if I’m getting older and harder to amaze and/or entertain or what the deal is now.
How depressing, now there won’t be anything fun to talk about tomorrow at work when everyone will be talking about the Super Bowl, except maybe how it was the first Super Bowl to be held outside and that it was cold and rainy. My opinion, they get paid well enough to just ignore a bit of rain and they should be working so hard that the cold shouldn’t bother them, I mean it was even below freezing. No Comments »
Anyone who knows anything about the game of golf and lives near or on the east coast knows that there are many Myrtle Beach Resorts that have some awesome golf packages to offer. I prefer the North Myrtle Beach area and have been going there for as long as I can remember. My whole family is into golfing and it is a sport that anyone can play along with being a great way for a family to spend good times together doing. Now that the winter weather is going to be breaking I’m itching to get out on the greens and I hope that I can squeeze a game into this weekend’s plans.
My folks have indicated that they would like to be able to have as many of the family, that can manage it, to take a long weekend some time this summer at one of the Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resorts and get some golfing in together. I’m sure that we could go online and find some good deals with plenty advance notice. I just Googled “Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resort” and came up with nice ideas and options that I’d like to discuss over this Sunday’s Super Bowl’s game and family dinner.
With most of us getting some money back from our taxes I would think many of us should be able to pull it off. It sounds like a wonderful idea that I hope we can put together. The Avista Resort is one of the Myrtle Beach Resort links that popped up that has gotten my vote so far. And it’s in the North part of Myrtle Beach, now how about that!No Comments »
Last night was a night that I had a rough time falling asleep. It seemed as if as soon as I’d fall asleep I would wake up with a start and start tossing and turning once again. Since I couldn’t sleep I turned the TV on and found that every channel was talking about the crisis over in Japan. What I found interesting was that it is always focused on the Reactors and the issues going on with that stressful issue. Don’t get me wrong this is a serious concern, but I haven’t heard anything about the poor people that were effected by the earthquake and the tsunami, except for maybe a blurb or two once in a while how aid is finally coming to Japan by ways of bottles of water and rice.
I just heard that the Black Eyed Peas were just over in Japan, filming a new video and had left just a few days before this crisis hit. I can imagine how people were over there right before all this happened and that they are all thanking their lucky stars that they got out just in the nick of time.
There is a lot more I could talk about what is going on over there, but since I didn’t get much sleep last night I’m pooped and heading for bed in hopes of getting a decent night’s sleep tonight. Good night and God Bless. No Comments »
